The Foundation, in conjunction with the Superintendent's Office, is hosting a year-long class for community members. This provides a behind the scenes look at the complexity of public education and an in depth understanding of how D51 operates. Topics range from Academics to School Finance to Technology Services to Pathways for Engagement. The class meets monthly, running from September-May. Join other parents and community leaders to spread the word about the Foundation. The role of an Ambassador is so important to our work. Ambassadors share brochures, represent the D51F at Back to School Nights and PTA or SAC meetings, work on committees, and generally help people understand more about our programs and fundraising efforts. We meet for one hour just twice a year, in January and in July.

Volunteer with the Foundation in a formal role on a committee. The possibilities range from short-term projects to more committed capacity. We currently have an Outreach Committee, whose role is to engage our community through events, speaking opportunities, and the building of relationships with parent leaders, including our School Family Ambassadors Program. Our Events Committee works to create fantastic, memorable and well-run events.
Volunteering in our schools makes a huge impact. Opportunities vary from assisting teachers and front office staff to reading to students. There are many different programs to choose from. Call us so we can help you find the right fit for you or your business: (970)254-5108.
