The D51 Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Logan Hood as its new Executive Director. Hood succeeds Dr. Angela Christensen, who has led the Foundation since 2016 and recently retired.
Hood brings more than two decades of executive leadership experience in healthcare, education, and community-based nonprofits. Most recently, she served as Executive Director of Community Health Services in Aspen, where she led a community health center dedicated to expanding access to affordable healthcare. Previously, she served as Program Director for the Aspen Community Foundation, advancing educational initiatives and community partnerships in the Garfield Re-2 School District, and as Executive Director of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, leading fundraising, community engagement, and cancer awareness prevention efforts in western Colorado. She holds a master’s degree in Nonprofit Management and a bachelor’s in Communications and has built a career focused on strengthening organizations, cultivating strategic partnerships, and expanding opportunities that improve the health, well-being, and educational outcomes of the communities they serve.
As she begins her tenure, Hood is setting an ambitious goal of visiting every D51 school within her first 40 days. She believes that building relationships starts with listening, and she looks forward to meeting students, teachers, principals, and staff across the district as the 2026–2027 school year gets underway. Those visits will provide an opportunity to learn firsthand about each school’s strengths, celebrate successes, and better understand how the D51 Foundation can support the needs and aspirations of every school community.
