Community Chromebook Distribution Rescheduled

Community Chromebook Distribution Rescheduled

The Community Chromebook Distribution has been rescheduled!

School District 51 Foundation is announcing a large donation from School District 51 of over 5,000 retired Chromebooks from the 2017 mill/bond. While these Chromebooks are at the end of their useful life in the classroom setting, we believe there is still usefulness in them. In collaboration with District 51, we will be offering these Chromebooks free of charge to anyone in our community on a first-come, first-served basis. D51 Foundation along with the help of the D51 Technology team will be offering the used Chromebooks with reloaded operating systems.

This is a way to thank the residents of Mesa County for their support of our significant technology needs approved in the 2017 mill/bond and to give back to the people who made it possible to purchase these Chromebooks in the first place. Guaranteeing access to technology and modern learning tools is key to offering a 21st century education. D51 was recently awarded a $3.5 million grant from E-Rate that will reimburse D51 for 9,000 new Chromebooks and 1,500 jet packs that offer wireless internet anywhere. The 9,000 new Chromebooks will replace aging Chromebooks currently in use in our elementary schools.

Details on pick-up sites, dates, and times are in the attached flyers.
