2nd Round Technology & Innovation Grants Distributed

The District 51 Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2nd Round of Technology and Innovation Grant Awards. A total of over $7,500 in grants was recently awarded from the D51 Foundation to 11 District 51 staff members.

According to Susan Berg, D51 Foundation grant recipient and Yearbook Advisor at Fruita Monument High School, “This technology will have such an impact on my yearbook staff. They work so hard to be creative and provide their classmates with a great book, and more cameras will allow them to go above and beyond!” Ms. Berg received grant funding for a digital camera for the yearbook class.

Each year, the D51 Foundation uses proceeds from its White Iced Celebration and other fundraising efforts to fund specific needs in School District 51. This year, fundraising dollars will be used to purchase technology and innovation products for students, professional learning for staff, and provide resources for student and staff wellness.

“This grant not only enhances my students’ ability to explore and express themselves but also reinforces the importance of art education in a rapidly evolving world. I cannot thank the D51 Foundation board members enough for this gift that will have such a long lasting impact on my students!” noted Independent Academy Art Teacher and grant recipient Megan Henry. Ms. Henry received a grant for 10- Light Boards for her art class.

Palisade High School teacher and grant recipient Stephanie Rush added, “We will certainly put the money to good use! We appreciate your generosity and value the impact the D51 Foundation makes in teachers’ and students’ lives!” Ms. Rush received a 70 Inch Smart TV with Google to effectively display educational content and connect with a document camera. “One of our three funding priorities is focused on Technology and  Innovation. At the D51 Foundation, we understand that updated technology is vital for the academic growth and success of our D51 students. It’s key to our mission. Our generous donors and supporters make this all possible,” said Angela Christensen, D51 Foundation Executive Director.
